Meet the Owner: Reiki Master Shelley Hilton

Shelley was introduced to yoga in 1995 after seven car accidents. She has been teaching since 2001. During her journey of teaching yoga, she came across Reiki. As a gift to her, she tried it. It changed her.

When she went into her session, she started crying, letting the Reiki practitioner know she did not know why she was there. The practitioner helped her understand the process. After the session, she got up and felt like the luggage she was carrying was gone. Her tears were gone. She felt clear-minded. After a few days, she realized what she wanted to do because of that session.

Shelley started Reiki out of her home in Houston, Texas. When she moved into her own space, COVID hit two years later. Shelley kept her space open during COVID and started doing distance Reiki. People came from different areas of Texas to have a session in person. She continued giving and taking care of others until she realized she needed to make a change herself. She picked up everything and left what she knew to move to Colorado Springs, Colorado. She left Texas on faith and ended up in a town she had never heard of before. A special place called Pagosa Springs.

My approach

Healing as a Sacred Partnership

Let go of the past, be present in the moment, and dream your future.

Presence

I create a space where another person can feel seen, heard, and safe enough to meet themselves honestly. Through my own experiences, I can deeply understand and connect. I am trained in body language and consciousness, which can help you understand what is keeping you stuck and how to move forward with greater ease. My role is to witness, listen, hold space, and honor your own capacity to heal.

Integrity

I believe my gift as an empath is not to take on another person’s pain, but to compassionately witness it. I strive to bring presence, honesty, and love to the healing process while honoring each person’s autonomy and path. My integrity comes from knowing that I am not here to save or fix anyone, but to hold a safe space where healing, self-discovery, and empowerment can unfold.

Compassion

Being an empath is one of the ways I bring compassion into my work. I have a natural ability to recognize what others may be experiencing, listen without judgment, and respond with understanding. For me, compassion is not about taking on someone else’s emotions; it is about using awareness to create trust, communicate thoughtfully, and help people feel genuinely seen and supported.
